The Shanti girl has come a long way. First the permed look. Then her tresses were rod-straight. Now, a short crop with red highlights. We caught up with her, recently, for a quick chat on her style and shopping mantras.
Mandira you are looking fabulous. Tell us who designed your outfit?
I am wearing Deepika Gehani. I have known her a little while and I have enjoyed her shows in the past. I have traveled with her to New York and walked for her shows there as well.
When was the last time you shopped?
I shop everyday. I am a compulsive, impulsive crazy shopper. I shopped in Delhi, yesterday.
Which is your favourite place to shop?
I have a couple of favourites. I think India is wonderful as far as shopping goes. People say I love to go to London, New York and Paris, they are great shopping destinations but India has so much to offer and I realise it when I have family coming here from aboard and they have hectic shopping schedule because there is so much to be bought, there is so much variety and there is so much unique one of kind stuff that you get.
My favourite shopping destination is India, all over India but if I were to pick something outside this country then maybe, South Africa. I shopped a lot in South Africa, bought a lot of clothes there, Sri Lanka and South East Asia.
Which is the most expensive thing you have in your closet?
Between my watches and jewellery that takes up 90 per cent of the expenses as far as my closet goes.
