Reddy brothers threatening me: Anjaneya

Bangalore: A former employee of the Obalapuram Mining Company owned by the powerful Bellary Reddys claims he is being threatened for giving information to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The former employee, V Anjaneya, claims he is also being denied police protection.

Anjaneya is currently in hospital after a failed suicide attempt.

He was the Mines Manager for the powerful Reddy brothers of Bellary and claims that the Reddys pushed him into taking his own life.

He alleges that after a CBI raid on the mining barons, his life has been threatened by the goons, who he claims broke into his office and took away all records and files before the raids.

He alleges that he was forced to go on leave in a bid to hide facts from the CBI.

"I met MD Srinivas Reddy. I said I'm a heart patient and have undergone three surgeries. If CBI people harass I have to tell facts. He said keep quiet, don't talk about that. In the meanwhile he said you need not go to the mines. Mines are closed as per Supreme Court instructions. He said don't go till I tell you," claims Anjaneya

Anjaneya took his family to Shirdi and when he returned, he says there were goons waiting to search his house.

"What I suspect is, he may be under the impression I may disclose facts to the CBI so he's trying to harass," adds Anjaneya.

He has quit his job now but also wrote this letter to the CBI, where he says during every inspection the boundary pillars of the mining area is changed by the surveyors, under the nose of government officials.

He says his family is being threatened now, and all pleas for police protection going unheard. The Reddys though say they have no idea what's happening.

"I don't know this. I have more than 4,000 employees. I am hearing all this only through you. I will check," replies Karnataka Tourism Minister and one of the Bellary Reddys Janardhan Reddy, when asked about Anjaneya.

Karnataka Home Minister also gives a mysterious reply.

"I do not know but I don't think it is true," says Home Minister VS Acharya.

The stand taken by the Reddy-controlled administration in Karnataka seems to be that there is no truth in the allegations levelled by Anjaneya.

But this time it's not the Opposition which is alleging threats by the Reddy tribe, but one of their own employees.
