Born to Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan and Telegu actor Pushpavali, Rekha first starred in the film Sawan Bandhon when she was only 15 years old.
Rekha transformed herself in the early 1980s from a plump, geeky girl to a sexy dusky damsel and over the decades, has proved that age only adds to her grace.

Her other memorable films include Khoobsurat, Ghar, Mr Natwarlal, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Khoon Bhari Maang, Aastha and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi.
Despite the years, Rekha continues to look ravishing, lending her oomph factor in films like Parineeta and Bachke Rehna Re Baba with Mallika Sherawat.
She was most recently seen on-screen playing mother to Hrithik Roshan in Krrish.
