Mumbai: The Railway Police investigating the death of Bharat Borge has given a clean chit to the top three Reliance security officials who had reportedly met Borge on April 27.

The police on Thursday recorded statements of ADAG security official and former Maharashtra DGP K K Kashyap, two of his colleagues and air works' air wing commander Pradeep Chawla.

“They had gone there to do their work and Bogre was doing his. They commended him for detecting the pebbles and mud and went away,” Assistant commissioner of police, Prakash Sawant told reporters.

According to the statements recorded with the police, ADAG security officer and former DGP KK Kashyap along with Air Works' Officer visited the airport to ensure safety of other choppers and aircrafts.

It was at the airport that they were casually introduced to Bharat Borge. It was Borge who volunteered to give his number.

Police will now very soon convert the FIR from an 'accidental death' to a suicide case. The reasons are two eyewitness statements and the letter written by Borge himself.

According to the eyewitnesses, they saw Borge crossing tracks at Vile Parle station. He seemed aware that a train was approaching towards him. The motorman of Churchgate-bound fast train even signalled him with a horn. But he took a step forward and bent himself in front of the moving train.

Moreover Borge's letter indicate that he was in a disturbed state of mind.

With Borge's death mystery now almost solved, police are expected to bring the culprit of sabotage attempt to book.
