Tirupati: Veteran playback singer S Janaki was injured today after she accidentally fell down in the bathroom of a hotel here where she was staying. She was immediately rushed to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam-run Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, where she had six stitches on her head. She is 'perfectly alright' hospital sources said.
The 73-year-old singer was here to participate in a private programme.
Janaki has rendered several soul-stirring melodies in many Indian languages, including Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil.
