Repair road, dad tells Madhu Koda

Press Trust Of India

Jamshedpur: Madhu Koda is Jharkhand's Chief-Minister designate, but his father got the news from media persons who visited his village where there are no telephones.

Koda's father, 69-year-old Rasika, said "I am yet to speak to him to get confirmation (about his selection for the top post). But I am happy for him."

"I came to know about his becoming the Chief Minister from the media. Reporters took photos of my house and interviewed me," said Rasika, a retired labourer living in Patahatu village in West Singhbhum district.

He, however, has a list of priorities for his son, who will become first Independent MLA in Jharkhand to occupy the Chief Minister's post.

Rasika wants his son to work on irrigation, communication, drinking water and improvement of the Hatgamaria-Baraiburu Main Road.

"I will personally ask my son to take up the job of repairing the road."

Rasika said he didn’t want his son, eldest among three brothers and four sisters, to join politics. "We wanted him to take up a government job... However, he was more interested in politics."
