Reunited: Mother comes back to deserted Bihar girls

Patna: Less than 24 hours after CNN-IBN broke the story of Anjali and Rimjhim, the two sisters who had been abandoned by their parents in their school's hostel, their mother has returned.

After spending 14 months as orphans, the two sisters have got their mother back.

It was after CNN-IBN aired the plight of the sisters that the mother's heart melted and she caught the first train to Patna.

“I came to know about the children through CNN-IBN. I am very happy now that I have got my children back,” said Shikha Pandey.

A happy Anjali responded by saying, “We are very happy that we have got our mother back.”

Their mother around a year back brought the sisters to a hostel of Patna’s Shanti Niketan School.

But the mother disappeared after getting them admitted in the hostel.

School authorities tried locating the family only to be confronted with a fake address.

Many organisations and individuals volunteered to adopt these girls and bear their future expenses.

Grateful to all the good Samaritans, a scattered family is now trying to speak in one voice.
