Director: Karan Razdan

There are good films, bad films, average films, one time watch films, but 'Mr Bhatti On Chutti' doesn't qualify in any of these categories. In fact, it shouldn't even qualify as a film. It's just a compilation of shots where some casual people think they can act. 'Mr Bhatti On Chutti' is a test of patience.

Review: \'Mr Bhatti On Chutti\' is a test of patience

\'Mr Bhatti On Chutti\' is just a compilation of shots where some casual people think they can act.

One delusional character BB Bhatti (Anupam Kher) has a peace plan for the world which he wants to share with the American president George Bush (Well, the film was awaiting its release since many years). However, the writer forgets to say what that plan is, even in the end.

Wait, he says something towards the end.

Yes, it was, "we shouldn't fight because it finishes the peace."

Thank you for teaching, we are obliged.

So, one fine day, Mr Bhatti gets a surprise gift, a free trip to Lake District. He gladly sets on a picnic without enquiring about the sudden present. Though the director Karan Razdan thinks the audience as a moron, still we expect things till this point. Bhatti is bachelor, cranky and an Amitabh Bachchan fan, the storyteller finds this much enough for convincing Big B for a cameo in the film.

Anyway, Bhatti meets officer Javed (Abid Ali) in London who reveals that his face resembles with international terrorist Abu Siddique (Anupam Kher). He is already in love with Alice (Emma Kearney) by now, but the London Police puts Bhatti in place of Abu. Turn of events brings Bhatti at the helm of affairs and now only he can save the world from the wrath of terrorist (Nobody saves the spectator though).

The film starts at a very humble note when Anupam Kher expresses the reason behind the delay in release, but the enthusiasm doesn't sustain for more than 15 minutes.

'Mr Bhatti On Chutti' is a logic defying story which may remind you of student films. It has everything from bleached out shots to smiling on your face extras.

The director is not new to filmmaking. Razdan has made films such as 'Hawas' and 'Girlfriend' in the past, but he has completely failed in his latest venture. Some of the sequences are framed on roads where the people in the background keep waving to the camera.

But, the audiences can understand the constraints of filmmaking; after all it's our duty to pay for your faults Mr Razdan.

Anupam Kher tries to excel as the protagonist, but he doesn't suit the role. Thanks to poor direction, at times, he starts behaving like a fanatic who seems to have lost all sense of story. If a veteran like Kher appears clueless then what to expect from other actors!

Pawan Shankar irritates with his over the top flirting with anyone and everyone, but he is the only other actor than Kher who tries at least.

The film is devoid of melodious tunes, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to congratulate the music composer for the song 'Bhatti is gonna get you', because this is what he does.

A complete misuse of resources, 'Mr Bhatti On Chutti' would be a sheer waste of time.

Rating: 0.5 out of 5.
