Rae Bareli: Robert Vadra, brother-in-law of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, on Monday said that he was willing to join active politics. Married to Rahul's sister Priyanka Gandhi, Vadra has till now not taken active part in politics.
"I am here for my brother-in-law. For me politics will come if I think I can make a difference for the people, only when I can feel I can focus and I can give my best and full attention for the development of the people. I am totally enjoying what I am doing right now. The family I married into is in politics. It's something I cannot run away from. When the time is right, if it is what is required at that time may be yes but my focus is on my work right now," said Vadra while campaigning in Rae Bareli.
Vadra said that Rahul is ready to take over as the prime minister of India
"I feel he is ready but it's his decision. His focus is development right now. Rahul Gandhi is working at the grass root level," he said.
Vadra and Priyanka have been campaigning for Congress candidates in Amethi and Rae Bareli.
Vadra joining politics will give more ammunition to the opposition parties, who have accused the Congress of dynastic politics.
