New Delhi: World number one Roger Federer took time out from preparing from the Estoril clay court tournament in Portugal to attend the MotoGP event and meet Valentino Rossi.
After watching the Estoril races, it was back to the regular practice session for Federer as he prepares for the French Open.
Federer has also sought the services of Spanish coach Jose Jigeras, who has worked with Pete Sampras, Jim Courier and Michael Chang in the past. Federer has so far won 11 of his 15 matches on tour so far this year.
"In some ways, I think I always have a chance to win any tournament I enter but on clay, in particular, I haven't played many small tournaments on clay. I think that's the big difference compared to hard-court or indoor where I usually always play in my home tournament in Basle or the Dubai tournament or the tournament on grass in Halle. So, I have some small tournaments on each surface except clay for the last three or four years, it hasn't happened, so this is why it's big news that I am playing this event and I hope it's going to help me for the French," he said.
