RSS chief K S Sudarshan, in an apparent effort to damage both the Congress as well as the Samajwadi Party says the then government had a hand in the demolition of the Babri mosque.
"People went there as Karsevaks as it was the issue of Ram Janmabhoomi, the birthplace of Lord Rama and since close to the heart. Lakhs had assembled. In the melee, the foreign structure that they called the 'Babri Masjid' fell. It was not only the Kar sevaks who were involved, it was also the government. But the blame was squarely annointed onto the head of the Vishwa Hindu parishad, the Bajrang Dal and the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Dal," said the RSS chief.
