RSS slams Jinnah, calls him a hate figure

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh (RSS) mouthpiece Organiser has slammed Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah calling him a hate figure.

The Organiser editorial said that Jinnah was a frustrated, piqued and egoist person and added that he cruelly and constantly insulted Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and other Congress leaders for their correct and nationalist stand of not accepting Muslim League as the sole representative body of the Muslims.

It also said Jinnah was a hate figure like Mohammad Ghori, Mohammad Ghaznavi, Babar and Aurangzeb but is disliked more because his actions are fresh in memory, and millions of victims of his hate campaign are still alive.

It also went on to say that even if the Congress wanted, Indians would not have accepted Jinnah as the first prime minister of the country.

However, former RSS chief KS Sudarshan said that Jinnah had "many facets" and was once committed to a unified India.

"There were many facets to Jinnah. If you read history correctly, he was with Tilak and was committed to a unified India. If (Mahatma) Gandhi had insisted that Partition would not happen, then it wouldn't have happened," said K S Sudarshan in Indore on Monday when he was asked if the Pakistani leader was secular.

Jinnah has been in the news for the past few weeks after Darjeeling MP and senior politician Jaswant Singh wrote a book on him calling him secular. Singh was expelled from the Bharatiya Janata Party for praising Jinnah.
