Click to play videoChandigarh: In a new twist to the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case, a witness has alleged that the CBI misquoted him in its closure report that absolved the police of charges of harassing Ruchika's brother. Vijay Dheer, a neighbour of the Girhotras in sector - 6, Panchkula said the CBI ignored his statement despite he having explicitly told them that he saw Ashu Girhotra being paraded semi naked in front of his house.
The CBI in its closure report on an FIR registered by Ashu Girhotra said that there is no evidence to substantiate the charges that he was tortured in custody or paraded naked. The agency said no shopkeepers in the vicinity or neighbours backed this allegation. Ruchika's father Subhash Girhotra said the CBI is trying to shield Rathore.
He said, "They are ignoring courts and are reaching on their own conclusions to save Rathore."
The CBI in its cancellation report has said that Ashu Girhotra was never paraded naked or tortured. But now comes forth a witness who says that he saw Ashu Girhotra being paraded naked and being tortured. But the CBI has misquoted him and not stated what he actually told the CBI. It is now for the courts to decide how to take the case forward.
CBI says no proof of being paraded naked. Shopkeeper denied that and said he has been misquoted. It's now for the court to decide.
