New Delhi: Russia completed a 3-0 whitewash of France on Thursday to reach the Hopman Cup final at Perth.
The top seeds, who had been beaten in their first match by hosts Australia, started the day needing to win all three rubbers to overtake the French at the top of Group A.
World No 6 Nadia Petrova needed just an hour and 29 minutes to beat Tatiana Golovin 7-6, 6-0 to put the Russians in sight of the final.
Dmitry Tursunov rubbed it in further, taking apart Jerome Haehnel 6-1, 6-4 in just 58 minutes. The Russians maintained their clean slate, as Petrova and Tursunov whipped the French duo 6-4, 6-2 in just over an hour to book their place in Friday's final.
