Russia clinch maiden Hopman's Cup

New Delhi: Top seeds Russia won the Hopman Cup for the first time in Perth taking a 2-0 lead over Spain after the final's two reverse singles matches on Friday.

Nadia Petrova beat Anabel Medina Garrigues 6-0, 6-4 in the women's singles and Dmitry Tursunov downed Tommy Robredo 6-4, 7-5 to wrap up the title.

Petrova set up two match points against the Medina Garrigues serve, converting the second for a 6-0, 6-4 win.

In the men's, a combination of fine winners and Robredo errors handed Tursunov the match point. Robredo hit Tursunov's powerful forehand return into the net sealing a 6-4, 7-5 victory for Tursunov.
