Mumbai: At a time when many Bollywood stars like Abhishek Bachchan (Drona) and Salman Khan (God Tussi Great Ho) are not finding success doing solo leads and others are settling for multiple cast movies, funny man Vinay Pathak all confident that his forthcoming film Dasvidaniya - in which he plays the lead role - will do well.
Dasvidaniya is a Russian word meaning goodbye.
"If you see the film it's a very apt title. It has nothing to do with gaining a milege. If you see the film and you say dasvidaniya, you will say aah!" says he.
Directed by Shashant Shah, the film has Neha Dhupia, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Ranvir Shourey, Suresh Menon, Suchitra Pillai and a host of others. The film narrates the story of a commoner who draws up a wish list of what all he should do before he dies.
So does Vinay maintain a list like this in real life?
"I have two different sets of lists. One is the funny one that I have to read out to the media because that makes better news. I would want to date Naomi Campbell before I die for sure and I have been practising Sean Connery's style so may be one day I will play James Bond and the two serious ones are that I would like to make lots of movies before lots of other people die - including me."
Well let's hope Vinay has more realistic wishes in the future.
