The Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple will open for poojas for the Malayalam month of Chingam on August 16 at 5.30 p.m. Special rituals including padipooja and udayasthamanapooja will be held from August 17 to 21, besides usual rituals such as ganapathihomam, ushapooja, uchchapooja and athazhapooja, the TDB said in a release here the other day.
The devotees can offer neyyabhishekam on all the five days. The temple will be closed on August 21 at 10 p.m.
Onam rituals
The temple will be open on August 27 at 5.30 p.m. for Onam. Usual rituals and special rituals like udayasthamana pooja and padipooja will be held from August 28 to 31. Devotees can offer neyyabhishekam on all the four days. Festival feast will be offered to all devotees from August 28 to 31.
Rajeevaru to be Thantri
The TDB has informed that thantri Kandararu Rajeevaru will perform the duties of thantri for a year from Chingam 1. The thantri will assume the responsibility on August 16, the TDB said.
