Click to play videoNew Delhi: The Sahara Group moved the Supreme Court on Tuesday alleging new demolitions have been carried out by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) at the Sahara Shahar in violation of court orders.
A bench headed by Justice Altamas Kabir will hear the matter on Wednesday and said that the matter will be heard only after the application is filed and the copy of it is served to the opposite party.
On Tuedsay, the SC had ordered the two parties to maintain status quo. The order came on a petition by the Uttar Pradesh government, challenging Allahabad High Court's stay on demolition at the project site.
After the ruling came, additional security forces were deployed at the site on Tuesday.
The state government had approached the apex court after the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court restrained LDA from demolishing Sahara Shahar and to restore possession of land to the company, Sahara India Commercial Corporation Ltd (SICCL).
LDA in its petition said that SICCL flouted the mandatory provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973 by raising unauthorised constructions over carved zonal roads under the Master Plan, 2021 without its prior permission.
