New Delhi: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan smokes too much and must quit, said his mother, former superstar Sharmila Tagore, in an interview on Wednesday.
Tagore cautioned her 36-year-old son who was discharged from the intensive care unit of a Mumbai’s Leelavati Hospital on Wednesday.
"He smokes a lot and has to stop now. I am sure the doctors will tell him so," a news daily quoted her as saying. Saif’s mother also said that heart problem “runs in the family.”
"His father has it and his grandfather too suffered from it. I hope Saif understands the repercussions and takes care now," she added. Khan's sister, Soha Ali Khan, said from his hospital bedside on Tuesday that her brother gave the family the scare of lifetime.
"But Inshaallah (God willing) everything will be fine," she told the daily.
Khan could remain at the hospital for up to a week while tests are conducted, doctors said. In March last year, Khan underwent an emergency appendectomy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he was shooting a television commercial.
