Salman endorses Sikh look in Heroes

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan is on a roll especially in films featuring younger brother Sohail Khan in the lead. After a special appearance in Hello - Salman will now be seen in another brief appearance in this week's new release Heroes, where the actor plays a Sardar for the first time.

While it's his 'brawny bare chest look' that creates the most buzz, but for Heroes Salman Khan has chosen to shed not his shirt but his usual clean shaven look for the role of a Sikh army jawan.

“I am playing an army jawan, who actually doesn't believe in war,” says actor Salman Khan

Salman plays the character of Balkar Singh and will be seen sporting a beard and pagdi for the first time in fact to make his look more authentic the star actually grew a beard for three weeks and took Punjabi tutorials before shooting started.

“First it was real uncomfortable wearing a wig so I decided to grow my beard, there were tutors for me and Preity Zinta who would look at our pronunciations,” says Salman Khan.

And though Salman has shot in a number of beautiful locations across the globe it's the landscape of Ladakh that captured his imagination while shooting for Heroes.

Since his last two films didn't set the cash registers ringing. Salman will be hoping that his new look will be a hit with both his fans and at the box office.
