Mumbai: Film star Salman Khan, who had performed at the closing ceremony of the inaugural edition of the cash rich Indian Premier League, is said to be interested in purchasing an IPL team in 2010.
Salman met IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi here on Wednesday and discussed the auction process.
Two new teams that will start playing in the fourth edition of the IPL in 2011, will be auctioned in January next year.
Actors Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla own the Kolkata Knight Riders which has been making news during and even after the second edition of the IPL in South Africa.
Preity Zinta along with former beau Ness Wadia, owns the Kings XI, Punjab.
And the last entrant was Shilpa Shetty who owns the Rajasthan Royals along with fiance Raj Kundra.
