Samsung Galaxy S4 coming to India on April 25; price under Rs 40,000

New Delhi: The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S4 is likely to be launched in India on April 25, however the phone will be available in stores from April 27, said a source with knowledge of the Galaxy S4 launch plans in India. He also said that the phone will be available for under Rs 40,000, while its MRP will be around Rs 42,000.

Unveiled on March 14, the Galaxy S4 has a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 441 ppi. The Galaxy S4's screen is 56 per cent larger than the iPhone's. It weighs 130g and is 7.9 mm thick; it's slimmer than its predecessor.

The phone has an internal memory of 16GB, which can be expanded up to 64GB, and has 2GB RAM. Powered by a 2600 mAh battery, its battery is 20 per cent larger than that of the S III.

Running Android 4.2.2 OS, the Galaxy S4 has a 13 megapixel auto focus camera with flash and zero shutter lag. It has a 2 megapixel front camera with Full HD recording @30fps with zero shutter lag.

Its dual camera feature lets you shoot with the front and rear cameras simultaneously. When capturing moments, users can choose from a variety of frame effects which blend the two pictures naturally and also adjust the size of the small picture inside the big one. Users can select 8 different ways to combine the two photos taken by the front camera and the rear camera.

The Sound and Shot feature on the Galaxy S4 allows you to record a few seconds of audio before you capture. In this way, you can enrich any picture by adding background sounds for a few seconds. The Drama Shot, on the other hand, lets you take a series of pictures of a moving subject, and merge them into one picture. Thus, it allows you to see all the action in one continuous time-lapse.

The S4 can stop and start videos depending on whether someone is looking at the screen, flip between songs and photos at the wave of a hand, and record sound to run alongside snapped still pictures.

The phone also allows users to hover a finger over an email inbox or a photo gallery to get a glimpse of more details of what's in the email or which photos are in an album.
