MWC 2012: Samsung introduces the new projector smartphone 'Galaxy Beam'

New Delhi: Just a day before the MWC 2012 officially kicks off in Barcelona, Samsung doffed the silk off its new projector smartphone - the Galaxy Beam - which is an Android 2.3 smartphone with a built-in projector.

The Samsung Galaxy Beam's 15 lumens projector allows users to display and share multimedia content anywhere on a large luminous projector screen - walls, ceilings or improvised flat surfaces.

Powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, the phone has a 4.0-inch (480x800) TFT display. The phone has a 5 megapixel autofocus rear camera with flash and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

The phone has an internal memory of 8GB, which is expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card. The Samsung Galaxy Beam is to touted to have 6GB of RAM.

Measuring 12.5mm thin, the phone has a 2000mAh battery.

This is not the first projector smartphone from Samsung. A similar product, which was also called the Beam, was launched in 2010.
