She partnered Leander Paes to win the gold in the mixed doubles final and also bagged two silvers in the women's singles and the team event.
A delighted Sania Mirza was undoubtedly pleased with her efforts.
"Mein bahut khush hoon aur excited hooon ki jitne medals ho sakte the mein le ke aayi. Char event khele aur teen medal le ke aayi. Unfortunaltely do final haare but mein satisfied hoon. Mera second Asian Games tha aur mein behad khush hoon (I am very happy and excited after winning the medals. I took part in four events and won medals in three. Unfortunately I lost in two finals but I am satisfied. This was my second Asian Games and I am very happy)," Sania said.
The 20-year-old from Hyderabad was cautious in her response when asked about the bad blood between Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi at the Asian Games.
"As far as I am concerned I have no comments on it. It is very sad that they don't want to play together or they won't play together, whatever it is. But that's the way it is and we must accept it. They both are great friends of mine so I am not going to be biased with anyone." Sania said.
Sania's rankings plummeted from a career high of 31 to 67 but the year is ending on a positive note for her.
A good show at the year ending Hopman Cup will be the perfect chance to launch her campaign at the Australian Open next year.
