New Delhi: Sania Mirza has returned to action with victory in the first round of her doubles match at the Morocco Open.
Paired with American Vania King, Sania squeaked through 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 against Alla Kudryavtseva of Russia and Olga Savchuk of Ukraine.
Sania and Vania had to wait long on Tuesday for their match as the second match on court stretched and then bad light forced their match to be shifted to Centre Court.
This was Sania's first competitive match after she pulled out of the Qatar Open in February due to a ligament injury.
Sania is seeded No. 1 for the singles event.
