New Delhi: Sania Mirza has re-entered the top-50 WTA singles rankings just before her first round match against Italian Alberta Brianti in the French Open.

In the rankings released on Monday, Sania is at the 50th spot with 488.00 points.

Though she lost in the singles opening rounds of Morocco Open and Istanbul Cup Tier IV and III tournaments respectively, the 20-year-old returning from a long injury lay-off saw her rankings improving two spots.

She had more luck in the doubles winning the doubles title in Morocco and reaching the final in Istanbul, Turkey with different partners.

But ironically that has not benefited her much as she is still 37th with 1042.00 points in the doubles rankings.

In the men's rankings Leander Paes is still at the sixth place in the ATP doubles rankings with 3940 points despite some ordinary outings in the recent tournaments.

Mahesh Bhupathi is 26th with 1600 points after, a drop of three places.
