New Delhi: Sania Mirza fans are counting on her to build on the success of her mixed doubles win at the Australian Open and carry it onto the singles court.

The Indian Federation Cup team is missing Sania badly in Perth but an abdominal tear has forced the tennis ace out.

Sania is back on court though, watched on by her mother who served as an occasional ball girl.

She felt no pain as she rallied with another India player Vivek Shokeen, which she credits to the magic of Dr Jatin Chaudhary.

"Unfortunately they (doctors) said I had a three and a half cm tear and they were saying you need five weeks off. But I knew I had Jatin. Since Sunday I hadn't serves, so i just served here now and the pain is pretty much gone. So yes this is some kind of magic," said Sania.

The doctor is busy fixing Sania's latest injury after getting her back in record time from a wrist injury that threatened to derail her career.

"When she met me there was some kind of pull, a Grade 2 pull. Grade 2 is partial tear. Normal physiotherapy and which is regeneration of cells," said Dr Jatin.

Sania spent the year 2008, more off the courts than on it. The wrist playing up every time she tried to get back.

The mixed doubles win at the first Grand Slam of the year may just be the tonic for the year ahead. But with fitness issues cropping up, Sania knows she will have to careful to get more matches under her belt.

"She is totally fine... fit and I can say 100 per cent fit. For her fitness she is doing a lot of physical training that keeps her fit. Nothing else. Proper exercises and proper diet." said Dr Jatin.

"I had so much sweet and cakes, It was just really good to be back," Sania added.

The diet may have gone out of the window for now, but then again, it isn't everyday that one wins a Grand Slam.

Soon, Sania promises to be back on the singles court aiming to be back where she belongs.
