New Delhi: Sania Mirza has moved into the second round of the East West Bank Classic on Tuesday at Carson in the United States.
Sania had no trouble against World No. 109 Alesandra Wozniak, winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
But it gets tougher for the World No. 30 now. In the next round round she plays seventh seed and former World No. 1 Martina Hingis.
Switzerland's Hingis got a bye in the first round of the tournament.
In the doubles, Sania and her new partner Bethanie Mattek of the USA will take on Janette Husarova of Slovakia and Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands.
Sania was earlier partnering Israel's Shahar Peer.
