“This ministry has enormous expanse. The important thing about this Ministry is that it touches every home in India. It touches every child who goes to school, every boy and girl who goes to college, everybody who wants to do a Masters’ degree. It truly represents the way forward for India. Corporate governance is a futuristic area and corporate. Governance is going to be more and more important as we go along and because I have both these ministries, I would definitely try to get linkages. I think one great linkage would be as there is a greater participation of minorities in the political aspect of country, we would like their participation in economic affairs too,” he said.
Praful Patel, who has retained the Civil Aviation ministry, sounded a bit sore. “It is coalition politics. Everything is dictated by the numbers you have. But I don’t hold any grudges, this is coalition dharma and it will have to be followed whether one likes it or not,” he said.
