Hyderabad: Satyam scam accused B Ramalinga Raju and five others on Wednesday moved their bail petitions in the metropolitan sessions judge court following a direction from the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The bail petitions are likely to come up for hearing once the documents are scrutinised and kept for listing.

The high court while rejecting the bail pleas of Raju and five others on Tuesday asked them to first approach the metropolitan sessions judge court.

Justice Samudrala Govinda Rajulu, while rejecting the petitions, had asked the accused to come to him only after exhausting the other available remedies.

Besides Raju, his brother and Satyam's former MD B Rama Raju, ex-Satyam CFO Vadlamani Srinivas, former employees G Ramakrishna, D Venkatpathi Raju and Ch Srisailam, who are currently under judicial custody, filed the bail pleas.

Meanwhile, the bail petition of former PWC auditor Subramani Gopalakrishnan, was also rejected by the high court, a CBI official said, adding another bail application of Satyam's then internal auditor VS Prabhakar Gupta will come up for hearing on Friday.

In their bail applications, earlier before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's court, overseeing the Satyam case, Raju and others cited the Supreme Court's earlier suggestion that they can apply for bail if trial in the scam was not completed before the stipulated time of July 31. However, the trial court had dismissed the bail petitions of Ramalinga Raju and seven other accused last week.

Raju and others are facing charges like criminal conspiracy, falsification of accounts, breach of trust, cheating and forgery in connection with the scam believed to run into Rs 14,000 crore that came to light in January 2009.
