Hyderabad: Market regulator SEBI will not be able to question the former Satyam CEO B Ramalinga Raju after its petition was turned down on technical grounds.

SEBI has been trying to get access to Raju from the time the Rs 7000 crore scam broke and is still unsuccessful as he is back in jail again after his team of legal eagles convinced the court that the market watchdog's request was not maintainable under the law.

Raju’s Lawyer Bharat Kumar said, “The court upheld our contention that petition itself is not maintainable and the court has no jurisdiction to attention SEBI's petition.

SEBI which desperately wants to question Raju says that he is the key to several missing links, including inside trading of Satyam shares by top Satyam officials before Raju admitted to 7000 crore rupees fraud.

For almost two weeks now SEBI has been trying to record a statement of Raju. But with the court rejecting the petition once again leaving SEBI in the lurch, the other option it has now is to go to the higher court.

Till then Ramalinga Raju stays away from question any of SEBI's question.
