New Delhi: Three Supreme Court officials have been arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for demanding bribe from a doctor for early listing of his case.
The complaint was lodged by US-based Dr Kunal Saha.
Saha alleged that the officials, who belong to the Supreme Court’s Registry Department, demanded Rs 75,000 from him. One official is said to be an attorney also.
“I was informed that if you pay Rs 75,000 your case would listed sooner. There is corruption in the judiciary and so I said okay. Then they did list it and that was amazing because the case had not been listed for the last four years,” Saha said.
Saha has been fighting a legal battle for the last 11 years against doctors who allegedly caused the death of his wife during surgery.
