New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary to be present before it on November 4 to explain why he should not be punished for "flagrant violation" of its order to halt further constructions at various memorial sites in Lucknow.
A bench of Justice BN Agrawal and Justice Aftab Alam asked Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta to be present at the court.
The court had ordered Uttar Pradesh to stop any further constructions at memorials of Dalit leaders in Lucknow on September 8.
