New Delhi: Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher is on track to return to the F1 circuit this season as he kicked off his preparations with test drive on a GP2 development car on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old, seven-time Formula 1 champion will return in Mercedes colours this season as a replacement to the current world champion Jensen Button who has moved to McLaren.
Schumacher will be in Jerez for the next few days as he warms up his driving skills with the underpowered GP2 car as the pre season track time allowed in a Formula 1 car is very limited.
It's only in Valencia next month when he gets his hands on the Mercedes car for this year at the first official test of the season. The German though, seemed satisfied with his progress.
