New Delhi: As the Formula One season reaches its climax, there is little to separate the two leading teams, Ferrari and Renault.
But this Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix could well decide the outcome of what has been a dramatic season.
The Ferrari vs Renault battle now runs into the Chinese Grand Prix to be staged in Shanghai on October 1.
Michael Schumacher is snapping on the heels of rival Fernando Alonso and will be looking to step on the gas with just three races to go.
The seven-time world champion is looking forward to clinch his eighth championship title before he bids the tracks goodbye.
"My concentration is really onto the last three races. That is what is the main focus and I didn't really think of any thing else other than be at the peak of my personal performance," Schumacher says.
His Renault opponent on the other hand, will be aiming to keep the pressure on the Ferrari.
Alonso's run in with Ferrari has added to the rivalry between the two camps. The qualifying incident at the Monaco Grand Prix when Schumacher spun his car in the closing minutes blocking Alonso from setting a better time has left the Renault driver sour.
Alonso at 108 points leads Schumacher by just two points and seems very confident of leaving Schumi behind at the three last races of the season at Shangai, Japan and Brazil.
"There is only one objective. I think there is only one target in the team that is to finish in front of Ferrari. Of course Ferrari have been dominating the championship and the races in these days so to beat Ferrari means to win races. And it is what we have in our mind now," Fernando Alonso says.
So expect a titanic clash this weekend in Shanghai.
