Mumbai: Summer 2009 has a host of big budget films on offer for the movie lover. Beginning this week with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. This one portrays the violent and romantic early life of Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman and the complex relationship with the villian Victor Creed who kills his girlfriend. That's not all, fans will also get to see Jackman go full monty for a sequence in this latest flick.
And then there's the latest installment of the cult science fiction series, Star trek. The prequel goes back in time to the maiden voyage of the U.S.S. Starship Enterprise and hits American theatres on May 8.
Public Enemies is next. Set in the depression era, the film stars Christian Bale, Channing Tatum and Johnny Depp as a charismatic bank robber.
If you prefer, the lighter fare, there's always the adventure-comedy Land of the Lost. This film stars Will Ferrel who plays a disgraced paleontologist who believes time travel is possible.
There's something for the kids too. With two big draw this summer. First, Pixar's Up tells the story of an old man who ties thousands of balloons to his house and floats into the air on an adventure. And then Twentieth Century Fox's Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
If that's not enough, the boy-wizard everybody loves will be back. The much anticipated Harry potter and the Half Blood Prince hits screens on July 15.
