BELGAUM: The screening of Upendra-starrer Kannada movie Katariveera Surasundarangi at Prakash Theatre and Inox multiplex were stopped by members of Bajrang Dal and Sri Ram Sene here on Sunday.
The activists tore the movie posters and raised slogans against the director, hero Upendra and also against the government for not allowing its screening.
They protested against the “objectionable’’ dialogues and scenes in the movie which, they said, projected Hindu gods in poor light. After the incident, all the shows of the movie in both the theatres were cancelled for the day. The outfits, on Saturday had urged the administration to stop the screening of the movie as it hurt the sentiments of Hindus. Screening of the movie is also doubtful on Monday, sources said.
