KILIMANOOR: A person was taken into custody by the Pallikkal police on Sunday following a scuffle in connection with the Milad-e- Sherif celebrations held near Punnodu Mosque, Pallikkal in the district.
Police said that Sunday’s scuffle was an outcome of an earlier dispute between two sections belonging to one community.
A group of youngsters arrived near the mosque and one among them pelted stones at people gathered there as a part of the celebrations. Six people sustained minor injuries in the incident.
One person, who the police suspect pelted the stones, was taken into custody.
However, the police were reluctant to reveal details of the person as his role in stone-pelting was not confirmed.
