Sea Link drive proves nightmare for Mumbai

Mumbai: A joy ride over the Bandra-Worli Sea Link after the dinner seems to be the agenda of many Mumbaikars now.

The sea link was thrown open to the public at 0700 hrs IST on Wednesday. As there is no toll fee this week Mumbaikars celebrated their city’s new landmark.

Even tourists from other parts of the country also turned up in Mumbai.

But with so many people driving across the bridge the traffic was messy.

The approach roads on both the Bandra and Worli sides remained choc-a-bloc most of the night and the vehicles on the sea link were crawling.

The situation worsened further because people stopped their cars on the bridge and started clicking pictures, despite the traffic police trying to stop them. Some commuters however seemed to take all these in their stride.
