Click to play videoIllol (Gujarat): The focus of investigators in the Gujarat fake encounter case has moved to prime accused Vanzara's village Illol on Sunday, where they tried to search for some remains of Sohrabuddin Sheikh's wife Kausar Bi.
In Illol village, the mood was tense. More than 500 metres from the digging, police blockades kept the media at bay.
But some supporters of the local hero D G Vanzara decided that wasn't enough.
Whether the remains of Kausar Bi are be found or not, the presence of mediamen here was not liked by the villagers.
Sources say Geetha Johri's investigation had little chance of finding Kausar Bi's remains, and they may have already been disposed off.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat government belatedly suspended Vanzara and SP Rajkumar Pandian. By law, the suspension should have been ordered within 48 hours of their arrest.
