Samsung launches the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0)

New Delhi: Expanding its Galaxy Tab portfolio, Samsung has announced to launch its new tablet – the Galaxy Tab (7.0). The tablet will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is powered by a 1GHz dual core processor. The Galaxy Tab 2 will be available in 3G and WiFi versions.

Reportedly, the device will also include 1GB of RAM, a 3 megapixel camera, VGA front camera and HSPA+ connectivity. It will feature a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. The device is said to be released in three variants - 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.

New Delhi: Expanding its online reach, Indian Railways' Delhi Division has come up with a dedicated Facebook page where passengers can check out availability of berths, train timings and other related information.

"We have opened a page on Facebook to inform passengers about the status of vacant berths as well as the arrival and departure of trains. The page is linked with the National Train Inquiry Service and constantly updated," said a senior Delhi Division official.

Beijing: Authorities have seized Apple iPads from retailers in a city in northern China due to a dispute with a domestic company that says it owns the iPad name, an official said Monday. The Chinese company said it is asking for similar action in more than 20 other cities.

The dispute with Shenzhen Proview Technology threatens to complicate Apple's efforts to sell its popular tablet computer in China, its fastest-growing market.

New Delhi: According to a DigitTimes report, Acer will launch CloudMobile, its first smartphone equipped with its cloud computing service, Acer Cloud, in the third quarter of 2012, following the launch of Acer Cloud in the greater China and North America markets in the second quarter of 2012.

The CloudMobile will reportedly be powered by Android 4.1 OS, and include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and a 4.3-inch HD touch screen.

New York: Apple Inc has asked a federal court in California to block Samsung Electronics Co Ltd from selling its new Galaxy Nexus smartphones, alleging patent violations.

In a suit filed last week in San Jose, Apple said the Galaxy Nexus infringes on patents underlying features customers expect from its products. Those include the ability to unlock phones by sliding an image and to search for information by voice.

Los Angeles: The Trustees Awards at the 54th Grammy Awards ceremony which recognise contributions to the music industry in areas other than performance, were awarded to band leader Dave Bartholomew, jazz recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder and Apple impresario Steve Jobs.

The Grammys honoured Jobs citing the late Apple boss' advancements that "transformed the way we consume music, TV, movies, and books."

New Delhi: Market watchdog SEBI seems to be the latest to catch the fancy of social networks like Twitter, Facebook and blogs for spreading its message to investors as also to snoop on discussions at these platforms as part of its investigation and oversight activities.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is hiring specialist IT officers, whose role would include keeping track of social media platforms like Twitter and blogs for all market-related information, comments and discussions.

Washington: Facebook can terminate services of its chief Mark Zuckerberg at any time for any reason, or even without a reason, but the social networking giant's founder and CEO also enjoys similar exit rights.

As per Facebook's employment agreement with Zuckerberg, his tenure at the social networking giant would be on an "at will" basis, meaning his job can be terminated "at any time for any reason or no reason", either by him or by the company.
