Delhi cops release sketches of blast suspects

New Delhi: Three days after the serial blasts in Capital, Delhi Police claimed to have made the first progress in investigations.

The police released five sketches of three persons suspected to have planted the bombs in the various areas of Delhi on Saturday.

One of the sketches was that of the person who purportedly planted the bomb in Ghaffar market in Karol Bagh, while two sketches each were of the two men who placed the bombs near a building in Barakhamba road.

Intelligence sources say Tauqeer, the main suspect, is the interface between SIMI and the terror outfit Indian Mujahideen.

They add that 200-250 operatives of this new terror network are operating across the country. The UPA is now under pressure to bring a new terror law

The Delhi Police is also appealing to the public to share any information they may have on these three men

"We appeal to the people to inform police if they happen to find those resembling to these sketches. Informer's identity will be kept secret," Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat told reporters.

The sketches were prepared with the help of at least five eye-witnesses, who claimed to have seen "planting of bombs" in Ghaffar market and Barakhamba Road.

The eyewitnesses claim they saw packets being placed in dustbins at Central Park in Connaught Place and Barakhamba Road and were called to the Police Headquarters on Sunday to assist them in making sketches.

At least 24 people were killed in the five blasts that rocked the national capital on Saturday evening.
