Seer wants blanket ban on vulgarity in media

BELGAUM: Pejawar Seer Vishwesha Teertha advocated advocated a ban on vulgarity in the Media - both print and visual. Addressing the media here on Saturday, the seer said that vulgar programmes broadcast on television destroy morality.
He regretted that of late, television programmes are laying stress on programmes and advertisements that highlight vulgarity, which could result in problems to the shaping of the society.
When asked to comment on the porn-gate scandal that rocked the state Assembly recently, in which three BJP legislators were caught red-handed watching porn clips in their mobile phones, the seer replied: “Vulgarity in all forms should be banned in all TV programmes and our country’s newspapers.”
