The elderly couple were found murdered at their residence in South Delhi’s Neeti Bagh on Monday morning. The police suspect their domestic help Mukesh Yadav is behind the murders as he is absconding.
The murder came to light when the daughters called their parents and no one answered the phone.
“There was ransacking, he stayed in the house for long enough to know what was kept where. There are deep slashes on his neck. Rest will be clear only after the post-mortem,” said DCP (South Delhi), H G S Dhaliwal.
Mukesh Yadav, a resident of Bihar, had been in the Goels' employ for just a fortnight. The couple had submitted papers for his police verification just a day back, which is how the police obtained his photograph.
They seem to have no leads so far but are questioning those known to the family.
Neighbours of the murdered couple says they were friendly people. This, however, is not the first time that an elderly couple has been murdered
