New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday slammed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his comments on the slow socio-economic growth of Bihar, saying people should look at their state's condition first.
Nitish Kumar's strong words came after Narendra Modi said that caste politics has ruined states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The NDA ally hit out at Modi saying people should look at the condition of their own state before criticising others. He said that Bihar is developing now under his leadership.
"We do not want to comment on others. Bihar is developing now," Nitish said.
Earlier, RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Monday took a pot-shot at Nitish Kumar over Narendra Modi's remarks against caste politics of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. On Sunday, Modi while addressing state BJP executive meet had blamed caste politics for slow socio-economic growth of states like Bihar and UP.
"Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi should respond to this. Narendra Modi is Nitish's leader. Both are a part of NDA," he told reporters on Monday. Lalu Prasad also hit out at Narendra Modi for his remark.
Modi, during a public meeting in Rajkot, had reportedly said that Bihar, at one point of time, was a political and spiritual leader of the country, but it slipped into socio-economical backwardness ever since the casteist leadership took to centre stage, without taking names of individual politicians.
