New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a prostitution racket operating in the Capital when a suspected call girl fell off a floor in a five-star hotel.
Tanuja (name changed to protect identity), who police claim is a sex worker, was grievously injured after she fell from third floor of Delhi’s Ashoka Hotel after losing her balance.
Police rushed her to the hospital and claimed she was drunk at the time of the incident.
Tanuja, who is currently recuperating, allegedly told police and added that she was with a "friend, who is also in the same profession".
The police have booked Tanuja and her accomplice under Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act and suspect the girl may have attempted suicide after she learnt about a possible police raid.
Police say Tanuja’s accomplice is already in custody, and that they are awaiting the discharge of her friend from hospital.
