SH Football Fest to kick-start on Monday

KOCHI The Sacred Heart Football Academy is organising an under-13 summer football festival at the SH College Ground in Thevara Monday.
Named the ‘SH Football Fest’, the competition is being conducted in association with the Sacred Heart College and the Rotary Club of Cochin Downtown as part of the valedictory function of the SH Football Academy’s summer football coaching camp.
Around 300 players representing 12 teams from various football academies and coaching centres in Ernakulam district will be seen in action.
Janaseva Sisubhavan, Aluva, Snehabhavan, Palluruthy, ISFAT, Keezhillam, Sealine Santos, Fort Kochi, Great Cochin Football Academy, Kaloor, Attuvel Football Academy, Ramamangalam, Soccer Udayamperoor, Bhagath Soccer Football Academy, Tripunithura, and Amabujakshan Memorial Coaching Centre, Maradu, are slated to compete along with the SH Football Academy teams.
Players born on or after January 1, 1999 are eligible to represent their respective teams.
The league-cum-knockout tournament, with matches of 30-minutes duration each, will kick off at 7 am.
Former international footballers C C Jacob and Xavier Pius, along with Olympian Mercy Kuttan, are scheduled to attend the valedictory function in the evening.
