Shah Rukh, Katrina, Deepika add Bollywood glam to IPL opening ceremony

New Delhi: Cricket's biggest extravaganza India Premiere League kicked off its sixth edition in Kolkata amid much glamour and fanfare. But more than the cricket, it was Bollywood stars who kept the audiences entertained with their stellar performances. From Katrina Kaif's latkas-jhatkas to Shah Rukh Khan's powerful performance, Bollywood was upright to keep the night entertaining and exciting.

Deepika Padukone was the first to put the stage on fire with her scintillating performance. Clad in black leather pants and a corset, she grooved to the beats of rapper Honey Singh's songs like 'Angreji Beat' and 'Brown Rang'. Next to take on the stage was none other than Bollywood's chikni chameli Katrina Kaif. The actress, who made a grand entry on a chariot dressed like a queen, performed on her popular songs like 'Touch Me' and 'Sheila Ki Jawani'. And, later she took it to another level with her high voltage performance on 'Chikni Chameli' and 'Mashallah'.

While the Bollywood beauties enthralled the audiences with their moves, superstar Shah Rukh Khan was also not far behind to charm his fans. He made a grand entry to 'Don' track and later performed on some of his popular tracks like 'Chamak Challo' and 'Ladki Badi Anjaani Hai'. He not just wooed the audiences with his own performance but also called up Bappi Lahiri and Usha Uthup on stage to sing at the opening ceremony. The duo went onto croon some of their hits like 'Yaar Bina Chen Kahan Re' and 'Rambha Ho'.

From Katrina Kaif's latkas-jhatkas to Shah Rukh Khan's powerful performance, Bollywood entertained the audiences.

While the Bollywood kept the audiences entertained with their performances, it was Amercian rapper Pitbull who stole the show. Clad in a black suit, the singer enthralled the Indian audiences with his hits like 'Don't Stop The Party' and 'Oh Baby'.
