Shah Rukh Khan to undergo surgery on Monday

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan will undergo shoulder surgery at a city hospital on Monday, a hospital spokeswoman said. The 43-year-old actor will check in at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital in the afternoon, an aide told Reuters.

"There is a surgery scheduled for today on Mr Khan, but we can't give out any more details until it's completed," a hospital spokeswoman said. Khan has a history of spinal problems but aggravated an injury on his left shoulder on the sets of his film "Billu".

Surgery had been delayed due to the actor’s busy schedule and the promotion of the film. Khan plays a popular Bollywood actor in Billu, the remake of a Malayalam film about a village barber and his friendship with a movie star. Billu, directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Khan, opened in Indian cinemas last week.
