Mumbai: After helping Farhan Akhtar and gang to Rock On! music composers Shankar Ehsaan and Loy are now hunting for the most talented rock band in India.
The trio launched the 'You Know You Can Rock Harder G3 Challenge' in Mumbai on Tuesday and the band who survives the challenge gets to pocket a cool audio gear kit worth Rs 2 lakh.
"Currently the rock music scene in India is very impressive in terms of talent there is a lot of talent but not very good in terms of promotion and the kind of support because Bollywood has taken over the entire music industry," said composer Ehsaan Noorani.
With hits from Rock On, Life in a Metro, Aa Dekhen Zara, Johnny Gaddar and Dev D ruling the charts rock is definitely in and in Bollywood too. The trio believe that conventional Bollywood music is slowly but surely changing for the better thanks to rock.
"There is a divide one is pop side and there is a rock segment. There has always been rock musicians and there has always been pop musicians, but rock is a stronger pulse for people to express themselves so it will always be there," explained Loy Mendosa.
The hunt for India's best rock band is on till the July 15.
